The system automatically switches operating modes based on ambient weather conditions to optimize efficiency: Dry mode: When outdoor temperatures are low, the system operates as a standard air-cooled heat exchanger. Fans draw ambient air directly across finned coils to cool the internal process fluid without using any water. Adiabatic mode: When ambient temperatures rise above a set threshold, the adiabatic pre-cooling pads are activated. Water wets these special mesh pads located in front of the coils. As dry air passes through the wet pads, the water evaporates instantly, dropping the air temperature significantly before it hits the cooling coils.
