
A closed-circuit cooling tower, also known as a fluid cooler or closed-loop cooling tower, is a device that rejects heat from a process fluid without exposing that fluid to the atmosphere. The process fluid circulates in a sealed loop within a heat exchanger coil, which is sprayed with and cooled by a separate external water circuit.
